Alan Zablocki
Everything You Wanted to Know about the Universe... and More

Alan Zablocki was born in Wroclaw, Poland, and moved to London, England at the age of 12 (1996). He completed his undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from University College London in 2008 and spent a year as an exchange student at the California Institute of Technology. He subsequently came to Chicago, to pursue a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics, and obtained his PhD from the University of Chicago in 2014.

His PhD thesis "Constraining Neutrinos and Dark Energy with Galaxy Clustering in the Dark Energy Survey", investigated how well galaxy surveys can constrain certain aspects of fundamental physics, such as the nature of dark energy and the masses of neutrinos. In particular, he is interested in how the measurements of the spatial clustering of galaxies on the sky can be used to determine neutrino masses.
