  • Wes Baumann was happy to see New Trier representatives at Rotary today; and
  • Tony Kambich was happy the Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield received its Charter at New Trier High School this week in 1923.
Dig and Grin:
Laura Cunningham entertained us with a story.

Bill Leske introduced our speaker, Thomas Heinz, AIA, an architect and an expert on the the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright with several books on topic.

On July 8, 2019, eight buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Tom Heinz introduced us to the 8 buildings, plus several more and a bit of the Wright history, legacy and lore.

We reviewed the Unity Temple (Oak Park, IL), Taliesin (Spring Green, WI), Hollyhock House (Los Angeles, CA), Fallingwater (Mill Run, PA), Herbert and Katherine Jacobs House (Madison, WI), Taliesin West (Scottsdale, AZ), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (NY,NY) and the Robie House (Chicago, IL).

A picture is worth a thousand words.  There were many pictures and a few more words will not do justice to a great and interesting lecture on the Wright Legacy.

Carl Yudell was the winner of the raffle, but he did not put the Ace of Hearts.
